Our Story

In 1982, Richard Drucker introduced to the industry a colored gemstone pricing guide, now known as GemGuide. In 1985, wholesale diamond prices were added to the publication, making it the most comprehensive pricing guide in the industry. The publication, which is recognized as the industry leader for gem pricing and market information, is used for valuation and information in more than 40 countries by jewelers, appraisers and as a reference in legal cases involving valuation. Gemworld staff has appeared as expert witness and has acted as consultants in several gemstone pricing legal cases. Gemworld has also developed educational classes and workshops that have been taught in several countries. Gemworld has hosted five gemological conferences drawing speakers and attendees from all over the world. As independent consultants, Gemworld offers products and services to the trade as well as performing appraisals for consumers and the trade. The team at Gemworld includes three graduate gemologists, of which two have won the prestigious Excellence in Gemology industry award from the Accredited Gemologists Association. Many other awards and accolades have been bestowed on the Gemworld team of experts.
