In this ongoing installment of difficult valuation assignments, appraisers and jewelers will learn about diamond and colored gemstone challenges. New challenges not discussed in previous years are detailed in this session regarding identifying, classifying, and pricing gemstones. Many topics of interest and challenges will be covered including origins, treatments, unusual gems, laboratory-grown diamonds, and more.

This workshop will offer a systematic approach to grading gems for color, clarity, and cut. Various color systems will be discussed with actual hands-on grading using the World of Color system. A methodology will be taught for assessing colored gemstones for clarity and cut and to gain experience in accurate pricing. Limit of 20 people.
